Hello everyone!! I'm currently in Williamsburg, Virginia!! We had quite a day getting started yesterday....first I spent all morning trying to pack my car and clean out my apartment, but it kept pouring down rain which seriously impeded the speed at which i could load my car. So I finish about 2 and I go to the complex office to drop off my keys and find out that they've closed the office for graduation, so I couldn't check out till for. Which was bad, since we had a 7 hour drive to do. But Jackie and I waited, checked out, went to go start the car, and the battery died. We were sitting there kinda in shock until we started hysterically laughing at the fact that the first thing that happens to us on our road trip is our car battery dying. Never a good omen. Luckily, since there were so many people are moving out, we found a kind father who helped us jump the car, and we got on our way with renewed spirits and then hit....NONSTOP TRAFFIC! I mean, we were hardly budging. We had to drive through Manhattan in order to get to the freeway we needed to and it was a nightmare to do that drive on a Friday at rushhour. But we perservered and eventually hit the open road. We drove through New York, New Jersey, Maryland and finally Virginia! The most exciting this for us was when we stopped in a Waffle House in Virgina to eat dinner and the prices were so cheap!! I mean, coming from New York anything would seem cheap, but collectively we ordered two belgian waffles, cheeseburger, grilled cheese, two orders of hash browns, toast, and two diet cokes and the total? $17!! Can you believe that??! That's what we'd pay for one normal meal in NY!! So we continue on with rather full tummies and eventually, we make it to the hotel at about 2 am. Exhausted, we stumble to our room and open the door to find the safety lock on!! We were like...ummm and then this very grumpy guy came to the door and yelled at us and we ran away to go fix the problem. But we got the right room eventually, marveled at how ginormous it was, and then passed out. We got up this morning, went swimming and ate our complimentary breakfast, and as soon as I finish typing, we headed off to Colonial Williamsburg! And it's beautiful outside--sunny and 78 degrees right now!! It actually feels like summer for the first time in our recent lives!! Tonight we're going to Knoxville Tennessee, so I'll update ya'll later!!
So....I can't really write what I would like to in here, because the only thing on my mind is the Greys Anatomy season finale, and there are several people who might read this who haven't seen it yet and if I had to live spoiler-free for those 3 hours, so does everyone else!! But I just have to say that I have never loved a fictional character like I do with Denny Duquette. and it's not just me...everyone is in love with him. The best is the creator of the show Shonda Rhimes, who created and cast his character who wrote this in her most recent blog... "The other detour I wanna make is over to Denny-ville. I love Denny. In a dangerous way. Denny is very real to me. He’s no character I made up. He’s DENNY. He’s human for me in a way that makes the actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan nervous when I get within fifty feet of him. See, when Denny gets all depressed about being an invalid, I want to climb in bed with him just like Izzie does. What’s shocking about Denny’s depression is that we are so not used to seeing him angry. He’s so sweet. But being an invalid wears down the spirit – that’s what our doctors tell us, that’s what we all know from seeing it happen to people we know. And I wanted us to see a little of that. I wanted us to see that Denny is starting to despair of ever getting a heart. That Denny is about to give up. Which breaks my Denny-loving heart because he’s Denny and I just want to watch him play Scrabble and say things in that drawl of his."
So, I feel slightly more sane knowing that Shonda is just as in love with him as she has made the rest of us feel. If anyone reads this who happens to be a GA fan and has not read the writers blog page...you absolutely must!! and listen to the podcasts!!! So, greyswriters.com. BUT DO NOT GO THERE UNTIL YOU'VE WATCHED THE FINALE!! And even better? The actor who plays him, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is just like Denny...charming, and humble, and amazing. I'm so in love with him a stupid fan girlish way that I wish I wasn't, but I can't help it. His smile, as is very beautifully illustrated in my new icon, just lights up a room. Just knowing a person exsists like him in the world, I feel like I can survive my endless state of singleness until I meet a person who is just like him. Someone who smiles and laughs and finds something beautiful in everything.
See? This is the reason I should not be allowed to watch TV!!!! and greys anatomy was totally not my fault, it was all my roommates and jackie's faults. Ha.
So, i'd love to tell you about the real world, but it is currently only existing in a part of my brain that is foggy and distant. In the little I recall of reality, I believe I have taken all my finals now, thurs is my last day of work, and friday i leave for CA. Jackie and I hung out all day as part of our Greys Anatomy support therapy group. We were so melancoly that we sat in the movie theatre, looking at all the movie showings, determined to see a movie, and not a single one could hold our interest. But we ate at Zanaro's, our fav Italian restaurant, in hopes that fresh-baked bread would raise our spirits. It was slightly effective, but we've decided that for sure, by the time The Da Vinci Code opens on Fri, and we leave on our road trip, we will be overwhelmed with renewed spirits!
It's weird to think I've earned my BA. I often feel like i'm no different than the person I was when I graduated high school, but then I find something I wrote back then, or just think back on memories of my actions and I realize how far I have come. When I graduated high school, I was an incredibly naive girl who was scared of everything in the world. Those were the days when swear words made me cringe, when talking to boys was a traumatic experience, and when I saw everything as right or wrong with no room for gray areas like in a Disney movie. I was terrified of losing all the people I cared about, not understanding that those who really cared about me back, would always be in my life no matter who they dated or however large the distance was between us. With the enormity of graduation and the huge change in my life that is about to begin again, those fears started to resurface, but the mature 23-year old college graduate in me quickly quelled them and left only the feeling of hope. There's something exciting about seeing my future ahead of me and hoping and believing that it holds something glorious and wonderful.
For the record, this introspective soul-searching is totally a side-effect of hours on end spent reading and writing philosophy papers this week. I swear once you start trying to wrap your brain around the universe, you just can't stop until you've questioned and answered everything you can come up with.
Well, I'll stop rambling for now, because I really should go to sleep. Forgive me for the long entry, I'm too tired to figure out how to do cuts as the moment.
Yours till the kitchen sinks, Me
So, I've forgotten about livejournal. I mean, I haven't really, because I visit my friends page at least once a day, but i'd given up on my own entries. And now i'm writing because I really really really do not want to do any more work. I don't know how anyone ever goes to Grad school!! I'm so over this whole school thing--i never want to write a paper again or even look at Word. And with my time here in NY approaching it's end, I find myself struggling not to blow off school work to hang out with all the people who I am going to miss dearly or to even to go to work because I adore so many of the children and my co-workers, it's breaking my heart to leave them. My little Ryan at work, has finally learned my name and he now says it all the time!! Apparently, when I'm not there he will occasionly look around and go 'Erin-where are you?' in his cute little baby voice. And when I am there, sometimes he'll stop playing and look for me and when he sees me he squeals 'Erin!' and waddles to me throwing his arms around my neck. I love him sooo much!! It's really hard to know that in a week i'm never going to see him again after seeing him nearly every weekday for the last year. And Lily and Charlotte as well, who I just babysat for the last time over the weekend, and it was so hard to say goodbye, that i let them draw out their bedtime reading them as many stories as they wanted and singing every sleeping song they requested. I need to stop talking about this before I get all teary again...in fact, because goodbyes make me so incredibly sad, i've compiled a list of everything (with a date to countdown to) which i'm looking forward to. So here is my current countdowns as of 10 minutes ago: 5 Days till Greys Anatomy Season Finale 6 Days till the second half of the GA season finale in which Denny had better not die! 8 Days till the series finale of Alias 9 Days till I graduate from college! 10 Days till I leave on my road trip back to CA whilst blowing off my graduation ceremony! 10 Days till the DaVinci Code opens! 14 Days till Meg Cabot's new book "Queen of Babble" Approx. 18 Days till I'm in CA 17 Days until X-Men 3 opens 45 Days until Click opens 52 Days until Superman Returns opens 52 Days until The Devil Wears Prada opens 59 Days until Pirates of the Caribbean:DMC opens 77 Days until Animaniacs on DVD 82 Days until Lisa Kleypas' 4th Book of the Wallflower Quartet is released 82 Days until Jasper Fforde's The Fourth Bear is released 126 Days until Star Wars unchanged Classic Trilogy on DVD 126 Days until Star Wars Lego II game is released 126 Days until Greys Anatomy Season 2 on DVD 136 Days until the Browncoat Ball in SF 150 Days until Thoroughly Modern Millie opens at the Lesher (which I fully intend to be working on) 175 Days until Halloween! 199 Days until the Dicken's Faire opens! Is there anything else I should be looking forward to, which I've forgotten? There's some other movies and dvds and stuff which don't have release dates yet. And probably things that i don't even know about yet that are going to be wonderful and exciting!! Alright, I'm gonna go work on papers and studying and stuff. But only because I don't want to have to worry about anything once the Greys Anatomy 2-parter starts and I have a final and a paper due in between part 1 on Sun night and part 2 on Mon night. and i know i will not be able to concentrate on anything if whether or not Denny lives is the cliffhanger (which it will be judging from the commericals and lack of Denny spoilers on the internet) See, i'm already stressing! and it hasn't even aired yet!! So yeah. homeworking. right. Toodles.

In response to everyones queries....I want to see all of you guys too!!! I haven't seen another living soul for over 24 hours now, except for the guy who delivered packages for my parents, which wasn't even exciting because he wasn't much of a conversationalist. But the problem is....I have no way to get to Danville. I am seriously trapped in Santa Clara without a car (and right now without even my parents cars since they are on vacation in some bed and breakfast somewhere). I've been so bored I actually started cleaning and organizing things, which is never a good sign. So if anyone wants to be so kind as to come visit me, you are incredibly welcome to! just call my cell phone of IM me or something. Specifically if anyone wants to see movies because I have a list a mile long and were I still in NY I would have seen all of these already: Brokeback Mountain Memoirs of a Geisha King Kong and I really want to see Narnia, Pride and Prejudice, Rent, and Harry Potter again!
I might just ask my parents when they get back to drop me off at a movie theatre on their way to work and I'll just spend all day watching movies. Not that I've been doing anything different sitting around here.
So yeah.
Please rescue me!
The end. Tue, Dec. 20th, 2005, 01:48 am
so i really have no idea why my pictures work for a couple of hours and then disappear. it drives me crazy. I should just get a paid account so i can upload pictures instead of just putting in a URL. maybe after christmas.
but the picture of my hair is up in facebook. so anyone who would read this will probably see it anyways. Mon, Dec. 19th, 2005, 01:55 pm Dickens Fair!!
So, I'm back in CA.... Its so strange to be here and yet in a strange apartment in a strange area, without a car. Not that I've had a lack of things to do thus far. I got in late Friday and then got up early to go to Sac from the O'Donoghue Family Reunion. We had a lot of fun...playing Trivial Pursuit and a foozball tournament with everyone. And there was so much good food. I really love all my relatives. We took a great picture with everyone on the staircase and if I ever get a copy I'll be sure to post it in here because it was very cool. Then I went back to Walnut Creek and crashed at my brothers, until Sun morning when Crystal came and picked me up so we could go to the Dickens Fair. And I could not believe how cool the Fair is!!! I ended up not being able to put together my costume in time, so I was dressed normally, as was Crystal, but I really believe that we were in the minority of all the hundreds of people there. Women were everywhere in gorgeous hoop-skirts, mid-1800s dresses, and the men were walking around with dress shirts, vests, jackets, cravats, and top hats. And then there were the people that worked there in characters, so you'd be walking around and then hear Bill Sykes looking for Nancy, or Fagin running after Oliver. The ghosts of Christmas walked about, I saw Mrs. Havisham, Mr. Pickwick, Mr. Fezziwig hosting the Christmas Ball, and my favorite...constantly running to Sherlock and Watson. And you can go up to any of them and talk to them and they stay in character...and sometimes they give out gold coins to you for recognizing them and playing along and then you can go get free cider and stuff with the coins. On top of the fact that there are all there really great restaurants (fish and chips and londons meat pies for example) and stores, they are rooms where you can watch scenes from the books being acted out, or hear Christmas Carols being sung. There were shows in going on all over the fair at different times. We ended up spending the most time and Mr. Fezziwigs Ball because they were putting on a dance show with people in period costumes doing Irish and scottish dancing, and it was really fun. And then they would pull people we were standing around watching to do Polkas and waltzs and country group dances. I was sitting there watching it and it was so beautiful seeing all the girls spinning about in their beautiful dresses and men looking gorgeous in thier outfits. Instead of it feeling like Halloween, it felt more like we had stepped into a time machine as we entered that we were suddenly in 1860. If people bumped into you they would say, 'Forgive me Madame' or 'Milady'. Men tipped their hats to us as they passes. I really understand now why people by ticketd for all 4 weekends because I could easily spend that much time there. Actually I really really want to work there. Specifically when I was watching the dancing group because I knew so many of the dances. And I loved that the girls who worked there got to go from performing dance numbers to pulling guys out of the audience to teach them the folk dances and dance with them. I really really want to be a part of all this. When I was getting my hair braided, I heard this whole story about how one of the girls who worked there was being proposed to on the dance floor at the very moment. They were talking about how it was yet another successful fair couple because they came every year and both worked it in costume. And it was so romantic because he asked her for a waltz on the dance floor in front of everyone and then after their spotlight dance, he got down on one knee and proposed! I had only thought things like this happened in movies, but I being at the fair was like a romantics dream come true. I'm so sorry, I'm still so overwhelmed with excitement over the whole thing, that I'm typing at lightening speed and not even sure as to whether or not what I'm saying even makes sense. Basically, I think everyone should go next year, as I intend to, so they can feel how magical it is. Its so great to find out that there are so many people who love the same things I do, with the same amount of passion...knowing this the world just seems so much better. So heres pictures I took with my cell phone of my hair...Crystal took better pictures with a real camera, but I thought I'd post these anyways cause they're silly since I took them myself. Just imagine how great it'll look next year with my hair like that and a dress like this: hehe. except not with tabs. I just really like those illustrations. I haven't actually decided what type of skirt I want to do just yet, but it will be similar. So, I'm going to go and take a shower now before I start chattering on even more about the fair Toodles
Year in review: JANUARY.
1. did you have a new year's resolution this past year?: If I did, I'm sure I didn't keep it.
2. Who kissed you at midnight?: No one. But I watched the episode of Dawson's Creek where Pacey and Joey first kissed shortly thereafter.
3. does it snow where you live?: Not for the first 2 weeks of Jan, then I went back to a snow storm.
4. do you like hot chocolate?: Most definitely!
5. have you ever been to times square to watch the ball drop?: I got to times square 6 hours after the ball dropped a couple of years ago...so I at least saw the aftermath.
FEBRUARY.
1. who was your valentine in 2005?: No one.
2. what did your valentine get you?: I hate this month. February should be removed from the calenders and we should have 2 Julys instead.
3. when you were little, did you buy valentines for your whole class?: Yes...the days when Valentines day just mean lots of candy and had no other implications.
MARCH.
1. are you Irish?: :-) :-) :-)
2. Do you wear green on St. Patty's Day?: Of course!!
3.what did you do for St. Patricks Day 2005?: I went to Manhattan all decked out in Irish stuff, hung out with friends, and then went and saw Rent.
APRIL.
1. Do you like the rain?: I like rain in the summer, when it's warm rain.
2. Did you play an April fool's joke on anyone this year?: Not this year.
3. do you get tons of candy on easter?: I spent Easter on a plane. But they gave me cookies.
MAY.
1. What's your favorite kind of flower?: It depends on the occasion...roses from a guy (or a least just once so I can say I have gotten them), sunflowers in fields, scarlet pimpernels to discover when your walking, daisys to make chains and put in my hair, and so on...

4. Finish the phrase: April Showers Bring May Flowers, What do May flowers bring?: Summer!
5. What would you think of as a spring color?: Baby Blue.
JUNE.
1. What year did you graduate from high school?: 2001
2. Did you go on any vacations last June?: I left CA for NY, but for work, not vacation.
JULY.
1. What did you do on the 4th of July?: Got up really early and walked to the Richfield Springs 4th of July parade (in a town where there is only 1 main street) to support the Glimmerglass float, then we to the lake for swimming and barbequing.
3. did you go on any vacations during this month?: Nope.
AUGUST.
1. did you do anything special to end off your summer?: Lots and lots of end of the summer parties at the Opera.
2. what was your favorite summer memory of '05?: Standing backstage during a tech rehearsal of Cosi Fan Tutte and listening to the lead tenor tell stories that were so funny we could all barely stand, and then watching the two leading ladies interpt him to start performing their duet like a rap complete with dancing. I don't think I laughed that hard at any other point during the summer.
3. do you go swimming a lot in the summer? Not really in NY since the only place to swim is lakes which kinda gross me out.

3. what are you thankful for?: Everything.

my pictures in my last post are showing up anymore :-( they were yesterday...i don't know what changed.
:::making a very pouty face:::: Sun, Dec. 4th, 2005, 11:36 am Snow!!
Ok, so we got our real first snowfall of the year last night!! I hope that pictures works...I won't know until I try to post this. But if it doesn't, that's ok, because it's from my cell phone and not very good, but I just wanted to show everyone the view outside my window with all it's snow! I woke up sometime around 9 this morning, realized it was snowing, and then fell back asleep dreaming that I was in Narnia and it was Christmas morning! It was a very lovely dream, and naturally I woke feeling all Christmas spirited. But babysitting last night helped too because their house was all decorated from Christmas, and the girls and I made Christmas cards and paper snowflakes, and played a long game pretending we were each Santa Claus and we delivered 'presents' which consisted of any random toys we found lying around the house. They're sweet girls. So, I don't know why I suddenly feel inclined to write in here. I find motivation to do so difficult lately because I realize that they few people who might read this, I usually already talk to and therefore it seems redundant to post about things I've already told people. But since I am already here, my recap of the last month or so, at Ludicrous Speed: ~Crystal came to visit and we had a blast! I don't think either of us actually slept that week, but who needs sleep when you're seeing Pride and Prejudice, meeting the movie cast of Rent and getting really awesome free Rent posters, seeing Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and falling even more in love with Norbert, going to the midnight showing of Harry Potter in costume, wandering around times square, seeing SPAMalot, and getting Alan to sign a really ridiculously huge dinosaur!! (Alan played with the dinosaur and said just like he did when he Wash 'Mine is an Evil Laugh!' and then signed that on the dinasaur as you can see....it was awesome!!) Those are just the highlights, but trust me, it was good times the whole week...except for the part where I had to work, but especially the part where I ditched ALL of my classes that week! :-) ~Almost immediately after Crystal left, my mom came to visit! and we did what any mother and daughter would do in NY during Thanksgiving weekend....SHOP! Ok, so I don't actually like shopping, but I hadn't seen my mom since May so I managed to have fun just visiting with her. Plus, she bought me some really great new clothes and boots. Oh, and we saw Forbidden Broadway, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Pride and Prejudice and Zathura at the movies, and SPAMalot!!!! But here's the things about Spamalot.....my mom had gotten me a front row ticket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FRONT ROW!!!!!! For the most popular show on Broadway!!!!! In fact, here's a picture of my ticket: And it was a total surpise...she wouldn't give me my ticket until we were already inside the theatre!! And the show was incredible!! I'm still trying not to forget any of the wonderful details...the silly faces that Tim Curry makes, Alan dancing during 'his name is Lancelot'...those arms...mmmmmmmm, David Hyde-Pierce's face during 'Brave Sir Robin' as the song gets more graphic, Tim Curry trying to dance, everything Chris Sieber does as Galahad, Alan as the French Taunter when he's making 'lude gestures', actually you know, just everytime Alan is onstage. :-) It breaks my heart that was his third to last performance and now he's not there :-( Who am I going to stalk now?? just kidding people...i'm not a stalker. Really!! You'll believe me when Alan and I are happily married with our 3 little red-headed children...you just wait! :-) And since it's BC:EFA time, my mom bought me the signed showcard which is soooo cool! (and the only way I was ever going to get Tim Curry's signature since he never comes out of the stage door) Oh yeah, and I have seen Harry Potter, Rent, and Pride and Prejudice, all multiple times now. Actually multiple doesn't really do it justice for P&P...I've seen it 7 times! I honestly never intended to see it so many times, but I kept seeing it was different groups of people and I really really love even more every time I see it!! Matthew Macfadyen or Matty Mac-hotty as I've decided to call him, is so wonderful as Darcy, I'm even starting to have trouble watching Colin Firth with as much adoration as I used to know. Blasphemy I know! But he is just so passionate about Lizzy and not as restrained by the etiquette of the era. Especially when he first proposes and he is so hurt but Lizzies rejection and he's standing there are drenched from the rain and staring into her eyes and you can see how much he wants to kiss her but you can also see his struggle with trying to mask his feelings with his pride. Who wouldn't want that man to be in love with you?! And that is exactly why Kiera is so good as Lizzy...from the very beginning you can tell that she is attracted to him and yet he wounds her pride and she has the same inner struggle where she's falling in love with him and hates herself for it. Plus she just captures certain moments perfectly, like the look on her face when she first sees Pemberley. You don't even need the line "of all this I might have been mistress" because she captures it all in one look! If anyone hasn't seen it and doesn't believe me about the passion, just watch this clip: http://www.focusfeatures.com/viewer.php?f=pride_and_prejudice&c=epk7&ext=mov&w=480&h=204Well, I should stop before I get started on Harry Potter and Rent and this starts sounding like a silly fangirls page. oh wait....I suppose I'm a bit late for that. Laters, everyone! PS. 12 days till I come home!! Woo-hoo!!!! PPS. I'm sorry I don't know how to do cuts, so that this very long entry doesn't take up so much room on everyone's friends page. If someone can tell me how please feel free to explain in my comments. PPPS. If any of those Firefly fans out there want to see the actually picture of Alan with the dinosaur instead of just seeing it in the backround on my wall...let me know, and i'll try and figure out how to get it in here.

When I was 6 and Molly was 1yr (so technically in human years, she was 7 and therefore older than me) we got into a huge fight over my Popple. She won of course, by chewing off both it's ears. But I found it in my heart to forgive her and we spent the next 15 years very peacefully. 41: Been to New York: well, i do kinda live here. but i had also been 5 times before moving here. and people wonder why i have no money ever... 42: Been to Florida: yeperdoodles! two weeks of glorious Walt Disney World fun! 43: Been to Cali: Well, I dunno. Does being born there, and living there most of your life count? 44: Been to Hawaii: Yes, but only Kauai (i'm not sure i spelled that right) which is the most boring island. My parents would claim it's peaceful, but it's just boring. 45: Been to Mexico: No, but i've been to Spain. It's the same language! 46: Been to China: No. 48: Dreamed something really crazy and then it happened the next day: not that i can think of for myself...but my roommate totally had a dream where our other roommate's hampster died and then the next day it did. It was really freaky. 52: Do you have a crush on someone: Does Alan Tudyk count? cause i'm a little bit in love with him. But as far as non-celebrities go, the only people I would possibly be interested in are about as accessible to me as Alan is (if not less, because i know exactly what door Alan walks out of 8 times a week) 53: What book are you reading now? Star Trek:Imzadi. Its a nostalgia thing. 54: Worst feeling in the world: When you lose a friend over a stupid fight. It seems to happen to me a lot. 55: What is the first thing you think when you wake in the morning: What time is it? Do I really have to be awake now? 56: How many rings before you answer: well it depends on whose calling cause i like to dance around and sing along with my ringtones. 59: Do you sleep with a stuffed animal: Yes. My teddy bear. Sir Edward Percival Darcy. 64: Do you do drugs: only the legal sort. 65: Do you drink: not really. 67: What kind of Shampoo and Conditioner do you use? Either Herbal Essance or Dove 68: What are you most scared of: being alone forever, especially the relationship sense. it's the only thing in my life that i don't succeed at. 69: What clothes do you sleep in? pajama pants and t-shirts 70: Who is the last person that called you: Rochelle 71: Where do you want to get married: I would love to get married outside, somewhere beautiful.(that i'm hopefully not allergic to) 72: If you could change anything about yourself what would that be: I would be 30 lbs lighter. 73. Who do you hate: I don't want to name him. 74: Been In Love: I'm not sure. Can you really have loved someone who you hate? 75: Are you timely or always late: I used to be late all the time. Then at PCPA i had "5 minutes early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable!" drilled into my head. and it works. 76: Do you have a job: I work at a childcare center, babysit on weekends, and just got hired to work as a substitute wardrobe supervisor for "Forbidden Broadway" 77: Do you like being around people? most definitely. 78: Best feeling in the world: Sitting in a theatre as the orchestra starts and the lights fade to dark. 79: Are you for world peace: totally. cause i'm a sci-fi nerd, and in the future they make it seem so plausible. 80: Are you a health freak: well, lets see, considering yesterday jackie and had a feast of Frostys and pizza, halloween candy, and then junk food at the diner, and that's a typical Friday. so i'd have to say no. 81: Do you have a "Type" of person you always go after: I don't really go after guys. i've given up. 82: Do you want someone you can't have?: who doesn't? he doesn't even notice i'm a girl. 83: Are you lonely right now: right this second? Yeah, but Jackie will probably call in a little while and then we'll hang out and find something fantabulously fun to do! 84: Ever afraid you'll never get married?: Yeah, even though it's what I want the most. 85: Do you want to get married: Probably more than I should want to at my age. 86: Do you want kids? definitely!
::IN THE LAST 48 HOURS, HAVE YOU...::
87: Cried: No 88: Bought Something: Yes, lots and lots of glitter. and a fairy wand. 89: Gotten Sick: my stomach was a bit angry at me for eating so much junk food. 90: Sang: Totally. at the top of my lungs in my car. 91: Said I Love you: No 92: Wanted To Tell Someone You Liked them: Yes 93: Met Someone: Nope. 94: Moved On: from what? 95: Talked To Someone: Yes 96: Had A Serious Talk: Nope 97: Missed Someone: All the time. 98: Hugged Someone: Yes 99: Yelled at Someone: No
 | You scored as Kaylee, the Mechanic. Kaywinnet Lee Frye: tomboy and ace mechanic. Besides being super-cute, you are also adorable, which makes you a double-threat. I'll forgive you for choosing Simon over Jayne, but just this once.

FiREFLY QUIZ created with QuizFarm.com |
Though I think just about anyone who knows me could have easily guessed that I would be the most like Kaylee...but i certainly don't mind!! Who wouldn't want to be just like Kaylee? (especially in the end of Serenity :-) )
When you see this on your friendslist, quote Firefly. (I couldn't decide between these two)
Zoe: "Proximity alert. Must be coming up on something." Wash: (alarmed) "Oh my god. What can it be? We're all doomed! Who's flying this thing!?" (deadpan) "Oh right, that would be me. Back to work." ~Bushwacked
Wash: "Everything looks good from here... (beat...playing with plastic dinosaurs over his console) Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive." (as Stegosaurus) "We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... 'This Land'." (as T-Rex) "I think we should call it...your grave!" (Stegosaurus) "Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!" (T-Rex) "Ha ha HA! Mine is an evil laugh...now die!" ~Serenity (Part 1)
Can you tell I love Wash? This has become a recent love of mine, but boy do I love this show!! I can wait for the movie on Fri.
Speaking of tv, I have now officially seen all 5 seasons of CSI, and am anxiously awaiting the new episode where Grissom and Sara end up sharing a hotel room together!! (and all dorky G/S shippers like me will rejoice and it will be a beautiful Thursday night!)
Jackie has got me hooked on the O.C., which didn't take much because the second Adam Brody was on the screen I was hooked. I have only seen the first 8 episodes because we have both been busy, but everytime I go to her house there is always O.C. watching (the best part is I think we got her brothers hooked too) I'm totally not a fan of many of the characters, but Seth Cohen makes it all worthwhile. Why can't I meet a guy like him? seriously, do they exsist?? if so, if anyone has prove i'd really like to meet this proof! :-)
And it goes without saying that Gilmore Girls has been awesome. Of course, I miss the reparte between Lorelai and Rory, but I must say that Luke and Lorelai have been having some hysterically funny exchanges like the one in the premiere where Luke was ranted about the end of Star Wars ROTS and how can one jedi have the higher ground than the other when they are Jedis!!and then in last night's episode when Lorelai was going on about how she didn't have time to take care of the dog and how she'd need some Dilithium crystals just so that she could make it to the dog kennel and back and Luke says that she gives her bonus points for the Dilithium Crystal reference. Yay for nerdy sci-fi references.
Alias premieres tomorrow, so I don't hold any opinion on that, though I did see Jen Garner on Leno last night when she slipped and said that she was having a girl which was hyterically funny cause you can tell how much of an accidental slip it was.
I've also caught all the new episodes of Law and Order and Law and Order:SVU, and Crossing Jordan, and Lost, which I've thoroughly enjoyed all of. I really wish I could watch the new David Boreanaz show Bones, especially when I found out that all the critics were calling it 'CSI meets X-Files' but alas, it's on at the same time as Gilmore Girls so it'll have to be a wait till DVD kinda show.
So as you can see, I have no life. I work during most mornings and afternoons, then I have classes in the evenings and some afternoons. I have to tape all the shows I watch, and I have a tendency to watch them all after I get home from classes. Then I spend all weekend watching Dvds that I got from Netflix which is how I watch everything else that isn't currently on tv. Jackie is really my only friend here, and she doesn't live on campus and she has a full time job at Starbucks, so our free time very rarely overlaps. Though we do see movies every Friday night. Last week we saw Corpse Bride, which sadly disappointed me with it's lack of songs though there were a few chuckle worthy moments. This Friday is of course Serenity, and then eventual later this weekend, Proof and The Greatest Game Ever Played. Guess it's going to be a busy weekend.
So there's the entertainment report.
My personal life is far less interesting. I work with adorable little kids who inspire me to tell lots of cute little stories, but I fear that I talk about too much so I'll refrain from it in livejournal. I went Rockclimbing on a cliff in Conneticut last week. It was the most terrifying thing I've ever done to be on a ledge 50 ft in the air with nothing to grab onto and only balancing on a few inches of a rock ledge, even if you are in a harness, it's hard to remind your senses of that when you're up there. I finally got my serve down in tennis and i think the teacher may have actually learned my name. maybe. i managed to complete a record amount of crossword puzzles in environmental science. i have a total fantasy crush on my film teacher, but i think that might just be because he compared the Invasion of the Body Snatches to the Borg in a long detailed metaphor. I highly enjoy that class.
I think my fingers are about to give out me with this novel i'm typing. plus, Good Will Hunting is on tv right now and i'm highly distracted so god only knows how many typos there are in this thing. Hope everyone who might be bored enough to read this is doing well. Toodles Erin Thu, Sep. 15th, 2005, 12:51 pm
OK, so i haven't posted in a long time. A really really long time. And now i'm out of the habit. But since I have once again returned to civilization and have regular internet access I shall try to post more often so people stop harassing me. But I must get my priorities straight: IF you are reading this and have not seen the new Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire trailer (it's the 3rd one) you must go to Mugglenet.com and click on the link for it there. It's unbelievable! It's got so much footage from a lot of the best scenes from the book...like when Harry asks Cho to the ball!! :-) and then everyone must either call me or IM me to tell me how excited they are too and we can all jump and scream a lot and wish it were 64 days from now because then I would have finished my Hufflepuff costume and will be sitting front row of the theatre in uber anticipation.

So, I haven't posted at all since I've been home, mostly since there hasn't been much to report... Well, I guess actually there is, it's just that the only people that read this journal were all with me at various points of my vacation so I never felt the need to state everything that was going on. The only reason that I am posting now is out of a sheer desire to keep myself awake because I have a dentist appointment at 7 am tomorrow and I know that as soon as I go to sleep the next thing that will have to happen is going to the dentist. I hate it so much! I seriously have nightmares about it...though not as bad as the nightmare I had last night where the black widows were trying to kill me in my bedroom as revenge upon my father for him killing them in the backyard. It was horrible! And even when I woke up I couldn't help but think that things were crawling on me. yuck. so yeah. I leave for NY on Sat. It's wierd that it's so soon. There's so many things I wanted to do when I was home and time just flew by which is not what usually happens. I spent the first weekend in Santa Maria and saw "Guys and Dolls" which is quite possibly the last show I will ever see at PCPA. Saw STAR WARS:ROTS!!! Loved it as much as I thought I would!!! I've hung out with all my old high school friends which was so unbelievably awesome! I've been helping my parents paint and remodel the house so that it can officially be on the market in July. So, this really is the last time that Danville will be my home...cause God knows I'll never be rich enough to live here! I wish I had more time to hang out with some friends that I dearly miss that I never get to see, but I guess it just isn't meant to be. Somehow I know I will always see everyone I care about again even with out trying...i guess it's that whole fate thing. First I ran into Farzad at the mall...which was totally unexpected, especially since I had come to the conclusion that I wasn't going to see him at all while I was home. Then I ran into Mr. Abrams, who I haven't seen since I visited him 3 years ago, who gave me a big hug and chatted with me about school and stuff, and made me realize once again how much I adored that man! He was and always will be the best teacher I ever had. So, I learned not to say goodbyes anymore, because it never really is goodbye, and that thought makes me much more cheerfull. So, today, after taping up the living room so it could be painted, my Mom and I watched Persuasion, which led me into this research mode where I've decided to make an regency dress, modeled after the one Anne Elliot wears to the Opera concert in Bath. After a couple of hours of looking up patterns and where to find replicas of shoes and gloves, I discovered something really really cool. Apparently the country is full of these regency groups that basically get together and learn the dances of the time and then hold Regency Balls where everyone comes in costume and actually dances. I couldn't believe it!! And here I was thinking that the only way I was ever going to get to experience what is felt like to live in the Regency Era was by attending the Jane Austen Festival in Bath (which I soooooo still want to go to btw) but now it's a lot more realistic a dream than before. There's actually several groups in the bay area that sound really cool and I wish I could join, but since that won't do me much good I found one in NY. The "Elegant Arts Society" holds monthly dance lessons as well as an Annual Assembly which is being held this year on Oct 22nd and I'm so going to be there!! This is last years schedule, but just to give you an example this is what it's like: 12:00-1:00pm Dance Workshop Learn the easiest dances for the ball: La Boulangere, Sir Roger de Coverley, The Grand Polonaise, and a Spanish dance. Absolutely no experience needed! 1:15-2:15pm Dance Workshop continues Introducing the romantic waltz, the lively Scotch reel, and the easiest country dances. 2:15-3:00pm Refreshments & Napoleonic Reenactor Enjoy delicious period refreshments and meet a reenactor from the French-allied Guarde Real Italiano. 3:00-4:15pm French Quadrille Workshop Learn the five figures of the First Set of Quadrilles. Steps will also be taught for those with experience. Early 19th century games Learn about and play board and card games from Jane Austen's era. 4:30-5:00pm Royal Scotch Quadrille Review A fast pre-ball review for those who already know the figures. 7:30-11:00pm The Ball Three sets of lively dances, scrumptious refreshments, and games in the Gaming Parlour! Isn't that awesome??! So then I signed on to yahoo a bit later and discovered that they've finally released the trailer for the new Pride and Prejudice, which I had been ademantly against in concept but after seeing the trailer I totally want to see it now!! Matthew MacFadyen is soooooo hot!!!! He has this beautiful, deep voice that sounds like Alan Rickman, but somehow manages to be even sexier, especially in the end of the trailer when he says "you have bewitched me body and soul"! I think my sighing could be heard from the other side of the house :-) It's a really good trailer, although I think it may have had more of an affect of me since they used the score from Love Actually (which i just love!) during the trailer and that already has wonderful attachments to it. Everyone should go here, http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/prideandprejudice.html and watch it. And when I'm haven't been patterning my dress, planning to attend balls, and working on my time machine so I can actually just go live in the early 1800's, I've been busy downloading a couple of my fav Bollywood movies that I saw last summer and haven't ever been able to find them to buy them. And before you ask why I didn't just buy them online, it's because it's very difficult to know exactly what you're buying and I might end up with a different region DVD, or one that doesn't have subtitles, or one that is actually a bootleg, not the real movie. The first one Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham (more often referred to as K3G ) just finished and I started playing it while I've been typing this. It's the first Bollywood movie I ever saw, and the one responsible for making me fall in love with them. I just wish I could speak Hindi, that would make my life so much easier, on top of being really really cool. But alas, the only time I can ever say anything is when I'm singing along with the songs and that's only because I simply memorize it phonetically. Oh god. I need help. I just watched the P & P trailer again. for like the 10th time. He's so hot. I think (this may be blasphemy) he might actually be hotter than Colin Firth. I know. I'm shocked too. But there's so much passion. And that voice. My god the voice. ahhhhhhhh...i don't think it's fair that the movie doesn't come out until Sept 23rd. who ever thought up movie trailers? they should be severely punished for making us want to see movies really really badly and then making us wait 4 months! so evil. Ok, I just watched the trailer again trying not to focus on my lust for Darcy and I realized that I think they may have dramatically changed the story. I know they hollywood-ized it cause already I saw more kissing than was in the book (not that I mind that particular change) but the trailer made it seem as if they've rearranged certain events. and you hardly see Charles Bingley at all. I'm guessing they've really made the focus about Lizzy and Darcy. ok, i have to be up in 5 hours, so i guess i really should go. otherwise I'm going to continue babbling on about all the frivolous thoughts that fill my head, like my recent obsession with Lost, my theories on who Michael Vaughn really is and why he isn't actually evil, or dead, or...ok, I just have to state my theory. Then I'm going to bed. So, I believe that Vaughn's last name might actually be Rambaldi. Did anyone else notice that the engagement ring he gave to Sydney looked like the Rambaldi symbol? And then there's the fact that both Irina and Jack seemed to know that he had a secret. And I wouldn't be surprised if Sloane knew his secret too. And why else would it make sense that he was assigned to handle Sydney...all her cases had to do with Rambaldi. And what if it was written in the prophecies that it was meant for him and Sydney to be together. I mean there was so much to that manuscript that we never heard about. And remember the whole thing with the music box with the name Irina on it? What if, Irina is actually going to be the name of Syd and Vaughns child, who has been prophesized to carry out some of Rambaldi's predictions? I mean, we all know that Jennifer Garner is pregnant, and they can't really hide that on the show, so I'm sure their going to incorporate it. And it's not like anyone else could be the father other than Vaughn. This really does make sense. And it would be a reason for why someone tried to kill Vaughn and Syd in the finale...someone doesn't want thier unborn child to ever come into exsistence. And of course, who else would it be but the only other surviving party to be obsessed with Rambaldi--the covenant aka Sark and that chick whose name I can't remember right now cause i'm really tired...oh i remember, Anna Espinosa. but they can't have just disappeared off the planet, i'm sure they have their own agenda. so yeah. there was more backround info i had thought up as proof, but my eyes are starting to cross, so i'm going to go now. I will continue the rambling at a later date. Toodles. Mon, May. 23rd, 2005, 03:10 pm

I'M DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S OFFICIALLY SUMMER!!!!!!!!!! AND IN 18 HOURS I'LL BE HOME!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok, commercials are over...back to Gilmore Girls!
Ok, just so you know, I am not procrastinating. I only have 2 pages left to write and I have loads of time so I'm actually quite proud of myself. So, I took a well-earned break, and went and checked my mail to find that the They Might be Giants cd I ordered from BMG finally arrived and I of course came back to my room to immediately to put it on my computer! While in the importing process I accidently clicked on the 'music store' button for itunes and what is the first thing I see? THE BACKSTREET BOYS!!!!!!! of course, for a good 15 seconds i just sat there staring at my screen in utter confusion, before i rushed frantically to the backstreet boys website to find out what was going on only to learn that I apparently have been living in a cave ( which i totally blame on being sick the last couple of weeks) and that the Backstreet Boys are back!! I can't believe it!! I thought there were gone and dead forever, but there's a new single and a new album coming out on June 14th, and after years of listening to the same 3 cds of theirs I am just in total shock that there is going to be more!! I just downloaded their single and I totally love it, and I'm so excited and I don't even care about the fact that I'm 22 and shouldn't be excited about the backstreet boys. Now if only we could get *Nsync to hurry up and record a new album (since to be fair I was always slightly more of an Nsync fan than a Backstreet Boys fan but that's not the point right now) I will be a very very happy, silly, girl!!
You may all free to mock me all you wish, but it will do little to me, as I am far too happy right now! :-)
And really, you should all listen to "Incomplete". It's actually a really good song, and very different sounding from what their old stuff used to sound like!

So seeing as how my illness did not kill me last week, despite it's best attempts, I am currently working on finishing up my final papers for my developmental psych class which I received an extention for, due to my ability to not breathe last week. I of course am typing in this right now, due to a minor bout of procrastination which will soon subside when I finish writing this. While going through my notes from class, I found a quote from the teacher which had sent me into fits of giggles, and since I am going to be burning all these notes as soon as I finish these papers, I figured I would put this quote in my lj for posterity. No one else might even think it's funny, but if you could have heard the way he said it, with such a straight face despite him being a very silly man in general, you'd probably appreciate it slightly more, like I do:
"You can have two potatoes and put toppings on them and they'll look the same. But if you take two people and put broccoli and cheese on their heads, they'll look different because they are people, not potatoes."
It was in reference to how two children can be raised in the same household, by the same parents and one can end up perfectly well adjusted and the other with psychological problems, but it was such a stupid analogy and everyone took him so seriously. I wish you all could have been there. good times. :-)
Ok, now that I have gotten that out of my mind...back i go to working on a paper relatating Anna Freud's developmental lines with the idea of constancy through a particular case-study. Is my life just thrilling? But in 48 hours, it will all be over, and I will be back in CA, happy, cheerful, stress and bronchitis free!!
Until then, May the force be with us all...
Toodles, Erin

i totally just got back from Hitchhikers Guide which was sooooooooooooo good! I would love to go on and on about it in here but seeing how it just opened today i don't want to spoil it for those of you who haven't seen it yet. Now to be fair, I haven't read the book in quite some years, and I'm not a die-hard fan, but i thought it was done pretty darn well and it's terribly funny. Of course this might be because i'm highly medicated and have a fever. it's amazing how that can have an affect on one's viewing of a movie. Actually my fever was down from the 100s to 99.5 so it really wasn't too bad. I seem to have this curse where my body has decided it's really really funny to get sick right when theres an opening of a movie i've been dying to see!! First it was LOTR:Return of the King, which Crystal and Suzanne would remember, right? I was so sick I probably could have been watching Passion of the Christ and not known the difference. And then this last summer, there weren't that many movies to look forward to, so I was really really excited about Spiderman 2 and what happened to me the day of the midnight showing? oh yeah, I got Strep throat. The first time in my life i had strep throat. and it's always when i plan to go to the midnight showing. I was supposed to go to the midnight showing of Hitchhikers last night, but i pretty much couldn't move, so i had to wait until today which turned out alright in the end cause it was a good audience. ok. the end. i have no more energy to write. |
